How I got here
Just like you, my story is full of excitement, challenges, and serendipity.
Born in NYC, raised in Tel Aviv to a mother in the humanities, and a multi patent awarded father in science and engineering, empathy and the design process is deeply engrained in my being.
Even as a young child, our household philosophy favored observing real needs, designing and DYI’ing one’s own toys, furniture, birthday experience, etc.
This led to gaining an understanding of how and where to “disrupt”, and how to collaborate on designing creative and immersive experiences.
During the years, I became fascinated with the magical world of cinema and storytelling. While still in high school for the sciences, I joined a local TV production crew to create content for broadcast on cable. This experience taught me how to manage complex work-streams, bringing order to chaos, all whilst helping everyone on the team to maintain focus on the emotional arc of the storytelling.
Following an interesting IDF service, I ventured on a long backpacking trip around the world to immerse myself in various and unique cultures, covering three continents from Europe to Asia and Australasia. From the vast virginal wild nature of the Himalayan mountains and the great New Zealand isles to the grit of the artist markets in London, streets of Berlin, Sydney, and Amsterdam. I was excited to discover new ways of thinking, and the underlying tapestry of human culture.
Following my studies in New York in the fields of Filmmaking and Design, I quickly found myself in the heart of the “storytelling industry” working for the likes of Warner Brothers, NBC, PBS, National Geographic, and others as a film editor.
It was serendipitous that my roommate at the time exposed me to the exciting world of User Experience and pointed out that my ingrained perspective as a filmmaker on what moves people is an integral part of how UX designers can influence the world for better.
All these life experiences led me to observe some real needs in the healthcare industry. With the understanding on how to “disrupt”, I went full time with my start-up medi.me, aiming to solve a significant issue with medical record tracking. This product didn’t eventually pass the beta stage but taught me a lot about entrepreneurship.
As I got recognized at the center of the UX community I founded milkboss as a strategy, design, and inspiration studio so I can use that experience to do great work with great clients.
